The Role:
An exciting winter internship opportunity (Jan-April) to work with an established leader in Canadian healthcare. This role will have the opportunity to be part of a corporate environment, be an active participant in designated project, and be a member of a highly collaborative team. The Legal Intern reports to the Chief Legal Officer and will work on policy development, legal research, and other legal, compliance and risk programs and initiatives. These efforts will include working with internal and external stakeholders.
Our paid internship program gives students practical work experience, learning and development workshops, social outings, and an opportunity to network with our leadership team. You will be an active participant in designated projects and tasks, and be a member of a highly collaborate team.

The Accountabilities:

  • Assist in policy development, legal research, and other legal, compliance and risk programs and initiatives.
  • Manage multiple projects and activities of varying complexity while under time constraints.

The Requirements:

  • 3rd or 4th year undergraduate students pursuing law from either college or university.
  • Excellent written and spoken grasp of English and proficiency in French is an asset.
  • Previous research experience, specifically using Canlil and other legal resources is valuable.
  • High precision and attention to detail, patience, and ability to work with repetitive tasks.
  • Determination to meet deadlines, multitask, work on urgent matters, and set priorities is a must.
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience working in a in a fast-paced environment

This is a hybrid opportunity working 2 days/week in our Toronto office at 150 York St. You will work 5 days/week between Monday to Friday. This is an internship expected to run full-time from January 6, 2025 to April 25, 2025.
