JOB DESCRIPTION

With limited direction, the Lead Consultant investigates instances of suspected dishonesty, violation of company policy, or violation of state or federal law by the company’s employees or independent contractors. This individual draws conclusions so appropriate action can be taken based on the results of those investigations.

EDUCATION

  • JD Degree required.
  • Admitted and Licensed (in good standing).

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 or more years of experience (Preferred)
  • Advanced skills with MS Office Suite
  • Strong/advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Exercises comfort with ambiguity within the scope of “investigation”

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform critical work functions independently
  • Effectively communicate investigation results orally and in written form
  • Travel (as needed) and works extended/unpredictable hours to conduct investigations
  • Partner with other attorneys in the Law and Regulation department to complete investigative work which may be used to respond to regulatory and/or other legal inquiries
  • Serve as a Company witness in administrative, civil and/or criminal proceedings and provides technical advice to other functional areas
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of criminal prosecution cases
  • Prepare investigation reports regarding employee/independent contractor misconduct and other issues
  • Assist with Enterprise and department wide initiatives to increase customer base and improve profitability
  • Handle complex investigations with minimal consultation and supervision

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This job does not have supervisory duties.
