ING Luxembourg is looking for a: Legal Manager
To strengthen its Legal department, ING Luxembourg is looking for a Legal Manager (m/w).
Description of the role
Legal risk is the risk of loss resulting from non-compliance with regulations or contractual obligations.
It also includes the risk of exposure to legal disputes in connection with all the Bank’s activities.

Under the supervision of the Head of Legal, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of legal advisers for the bank’s Retail and/or Private Banking activities. Your main tasks will be:

  • Monitoring, analysing and commenting on legislative and regulatory developments likely to affect the Bank’s business and provide support for their implementation;
  • Assisting the bank’s various commercial departments in analysing and coordinating the legal aspects of implementing or modifying products and services, by drafting the related forms and contracts;
  • Drafting and regularly updating the bank’s contractual statement in this area;
  • Analysing, negotiating, drafting and/or checking specific contracts to be signed with customers;
  • Monitoring and managing cases involving the Bank’s liability;
  • Advising and supporting the activities of the credit and litigation departments (debt recovery);
  • Ensure the operational management of estates, garnishments, seizures of contributions and letters rogatory within the legal framework relating to;
  • Train the Bank’s Retail business lines on the new regulations that have the greatest impact on their activities;
  • Assist the Head of Legal with Group reporting;
  • Coordinate the various tasks to meet the deadlines set by regulations, the Group or the requirements of requirements of internal and external customers;
  • Managing and coaching the team to successfully complete the various assignments.

Your profile

Experiences:

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Law;
  • An additional degree and/or specialisation in economics, taxation and/or business management would be an asset;
  • You have over 10 years’ experience as a Legal Advisor in a similar field;
  • Previous management experience will be considered an asset;
  • Any legal knowledge, both practical and theoretical, in other fields will be valued.

Skills:

  • Highly practical;
  • Analytical and argumentative skills;
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, synthesis and communication skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills, team spirit, team management, organisational skills.

Languages:

  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English;
  • Knowledge of other languages (Dutch, German, Luxembourgish) will be considered as an asset.
