We are seeking an experienced Derivatives Product Counsel to join our legal team. You will be responsible for providing legal advice about derivatives contracts, collateral management and netting and offset agreements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the field of derivatives, preferably with a financial institution or law firm.
- Candidates will ideally have relevant legal experience advising on technology and/or financial products at a fintech company or financial institution.
- Exposure and keen interest for crypto assets will be highly advantageous.
- Hands on at work and can be independent in managing complex projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional business teams and maintain relationships with the necessary regulatory and compliance stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Providing legal advisory on product analysis, negotiation, and documentation for derivatives (including futures, options, swaps, and OTC derivatives) and FX derivatives.
- Advising, supporting, and ensuring regulatory compliance across derivative business lines, senior management, and other stakeholders.
- Analyzing and responding to legal and regulatory issues, including litigation and client complaints.
- Developing and drafting internal procedures, policies, and derivative-related documentation.
- Liaising with external counsels to provide insights on market initiatives and to consult on product coverage.
- Collaborating with the trading team and other legal experts for conducting risk assessments.
- Offering guidance on collateral management and master netting agreements.
- Educating and advising operational teams about the legal framework relating to derivatives.
- Participating in both internal and external audits as well as regulatory examinations.
- Maintaining consistent communication with management regarding legal issues affecting the company’s derivative operations.
