LHH is looking for a hybrid Legal Secretary (Labor and Employment Law) for a firm in Pittsburgh
Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled Legal Secretary to support 3-4 attorneys in our labor and employment law practice. The role involves preparing and revising correspondence, pleadings, and documents; managing calendars; handling client and office filing; and electronic transcription. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Support up to three attorneys in employment law matters, with additional support as needed.
  • Engage with attorneys on current cases and projects, utilizing available resources.
  • Answer phones and communicate with clients regularly.
  • Act as a liaison between internal departments and external agencies.
  • Prepare and revise correspondence, pleadings, and documents.
  • Handle complex and confidential time-sensitive material.
  • Run conflict checks and open new client engagements.
  • Maintain calendars, CLE records, reports, and time records.
  • Organize travel arrangements and manage reservations.
  • Maintain docketing for litigation attorneys.
  • Transcribe electronic dictation and schedule depositions.
  • Perform various office and client filing tasks and proofreading.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • At least 3 years of recent legal secretarial experience in a law firm, with at least one year in labor and employment law.
  • Typing speed of 65+ wpm.
  • Familiarity with state and federal rules and procedures.
  • Experience with trial preparation and briefs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent proofreading abilities.
  • Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and balance workload.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 2007 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, small office environment.

Educational Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • A 4-year college degree is preferred.

Additional Information:
This is a hybrid position.
Salary range $68,500 - $79,500 with benefits
Pay Details: $68,500.00 to $79,500.00 per year
