Join the New Frontier Immigration Law team and help change the lives of 1 million undocumented immigrants through compelling legal writing. Our fast-growing, mid-sized law firm in Phoenix, AZ is committed to humanitarian-based immigration and finding creative solutions for seemingly impossible problems.
This is a remote, full-time contract position on our legal writing team. The ideal candidate for this role must possess expertise in drafting declarations and cover letters for various immigration cases, including T visas, U visas, VAWA, 601 waivers, and asylum. We are looking for candidates that are experienced, empathetic, and have a proactive approach to legal writing while maintaining sensitivity to our clients’ needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of experience working in family-based immigration law or equivalent legal writing experience
  • Background as a paralegal, law clerk (attorney pending bar admission), or licensed attorney
  • Exceptional legal writing skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Fluency in English; fluency in Spanish highly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and comfort with AI-assisted drafting tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to conduct sensitive interviews
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote environment
  • Emotional resilience to handle potentially traumatic client stories

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interview clients to gather information about their experiences with human trafficking, domestic violence, or other hardships
  • Draft detailed, first-person declarations that address all legal elements required for specific immigration benefits
  • Craft persuasive cover letters summarizing declarations and linking elements to associated immigration benefits
  • Collaborate with supervising attorneys to revise and refine declarations and cover letters
  • Meet tight deadlines in a high-volume work environment
  • Utilize drafting software to enhance efficiency
  • Maintain a high level of empathy and professionalism when dealing with sensitive client information
