ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is central to our person-centred approach promise which ensures we aim to enhance the psychological, spiritual, social, emotional, and physical well-being of our residents. The Leisure & Lifestyle Team is here to help make that a reality!
As a part of the Leisure and Lifestyle Team, you will have the satisfaction to ensure whole-of-person care to connect with our residents, get to know them and their interests, and provide a relaxed and gratifying experience where people feel like they are part of a community.
Under the general direction of the Leisure and Lifestyle Manager, you will:
- Deepen the cultural experience for our residents.
- Deliver recreation activities to our residents and actively support them to maintain their physical, intellectual, emotional, cultural, and social wellbeing.
- Ensure individual residents’ needs, values, spiritual, and cultural preferences are considered when providing recreational activities.
- Complete documented assessments and review of resident participation and engagements.
- Ensure effective and mutually beneficial relationships with our residents and their loved ones.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:
- Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or willingness to undertake further training.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards and ACFI, or the ability to learn.
- Computer literacy and proficiency with email and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain collaborative and effective relationships with all multidisciplinary team members.
- Experience working in residential aged care (preferred).
