ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone with outstanding management skills, displaying the ability to lead, coach, and motivate our fantastic team of leisure and wellness assistants. The ideal candidate will have a passion for improving the well being of older people and building an inclusive and community-focused environment. Essential criteria include:
- Experience in leadership, mentoring and overall management of a social, leisure and wellness or lifestyle team in a residential care environment or similar
- A relevant Certificate/Diploma/Degree
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate (or can obtain once commenced)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to identify priorities and work with conflicting deadlines
- An understanding of the Aged Care standards and associated documentation and accreditation
- Proficient IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
You must also be willing to obtain a National Police Certificate before commencing employment as well as a functional assessment.

Responsibilities:
- Facilitating relationship-enabling environments and activities for all residents
- Promoting and communicating leisure and wellness activities, programs and events to residents, staff, and visitors
- Developing and maintaining social, leisure and wellness care plans for individual residents in consultation with the resident and / or their representative, including the setting of relevant and specific leisure and wellness goals
- Overseeing the implementation of activities including any aides or assistive devices required for resident participation.
- Reviewing and analysing social, leisure and wellness activities and programs, and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Managing the participation of volunteers, including matching them with residents and providing coaching and guidance as required
- Liaising with Allied Health to coordinate programs that empower and support residents to live their best lives
- Managing the Day Respite Centre, engaging with carers and ensuring information is sought in relation to client needs and care plans are prepared and monitored
