As a Level 1 Support Engineer you will be providing technical assistance across the complete range of technology, networks and systems. You will be responsible for ticket registration, monitoring and analyzing statuses, resolving technical issues. Written and spoken Japanese proficiency is a requirement as you will primarily support our Japanese customers and partners.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience in the Telecom Core Network domain
  • Good knowledge of mobile telecom networks and signaling
  • Good knowledge of IP networking is a plus
  • Proven hands-on experience and very good understanding of at least one of the technical areas below (multiple is a big plus):
  • Core CS products/technologies/protocols, not all mandatory: MSC/ MSC Server, STP, HLR/HLR-FE, CUDB, HSS/HSS-FE, DEA/DRA/DSC, APG 43/43L, IMS, Protocol Analyzer, Protocol Stack knowledge (SS7, SIGTRAN, Diameter, SIP), VoLTE, CCDM, 5G Core
  • VAS products/technologies/protocols, not all mandatory: SMSC, SMPP, SMS over SGd/IMS, Location Based Services (LBS – 3G&4G)
  • Experience on the Ericsson products like STP, HLR/HLR-FE, CUDB, HSS/HSS-FE, DEA/DRA/DSC is a plus
  • Good knowledge of Linux, Google Cloud, and OpenStack, Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Knowledge of scripting (Python, BASH) is a plus.
  • Availability to work on-call
  • Proficiency in English.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the IOTA Core CS networks.
  • Troubleshooting on Core CS nodes: HLR/HLR-FW, HSS/HSS-FE, CUDB, STP, DEA/DSC/DRA
  • Give technical support to sales, marketing, project managers, and the customer, including pre-sales activities that can control and supervise the core network implementation;
  • Management and implementation of automation scripts;
  • Verify and support the implementation of configuration changes;
  • Analyze the risk and impact of a new service element integration or design change.
  • Coordinate and work together with other teams such as L1 support, Engineering, etc.
  • Provide remote support and troubleshooting for integration engineers, customer, and 3rd party;
  • Create, review and update processes and procedures to implement new configuration or fix common issues
  • Actively participate and contribute to the problem management process when necessary;
  • Cover 24x7 On-Call duty on request to support the L1 team
  • Coordinate, support and execute proactive and reactive maintenance activities to ensure that high quality services within agreed SLAs.
  • Create and deliver reports and dashboards of KPIs.
