SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in the field of computer science and/or 6 plus years related work experience
  • Additional experience may be a substitute for education.
  • Effective English language oral and written communication skills, learning skills, customer service orientation, problem analysis, problem-solving, adaptability, planning and organizing, attention to detail, participate in continuous improvement, stress tolerance.
  • Basic understanding of scripting technologies such as Office macros, PowerShell, Windows Scripting Host.

Responsibilities:

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Working as part of the EMEA Help Desk/On-Site Support team provide on-site and remote IT support for the Nordson Boyle and Galway facilities in Ireland. Also work as part of the UK/Ireland sub-team to provide remote IT support for the UK facilities and other EMEA Nordson locations when needed.
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where your ideas and contributions will be valued and respected.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide incident and problem resolution for all users with hardware, software and application problems.
  • Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, electronically.
  • Advise user/s on appropriate action/s.
  • Follow standardized operating procedures.
  • Log all help desk interactions.
  • Redirect problems to appropriate resources.
  • Identify and when needed escalate situations requiring urgent attention.
  • Stay current with system information, changes and updates.
  • Create knowledge articles and documentation as appropriate.
  • Work with external vendors on IT related projects and issues as needed.
  • Work with and be a part of our specialist IT Service Line Teams.
