About the Role
Reporting to Network Operations Team Leader, you will be designing, engineering and implementation of network service requests, while interfacing with multiple stakeholders. The ideal person for this role will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills and can work both alone and in team settings. Adherence to industry standards and products is crucial to your success in this role. You will have ownership for build and support of IP networks including routing, switching and network security services whilst ensuring customer satisfaction.
You will also assist in developing and implementing new processes for the diagnosis and resolution of complex faults within the TAC. This role is a hands-on network operation role that provides top service and clear communication, with extensive experience covering network support, implementation and change management.
Responsibilities:
Technical Authority
Working closely with the Network Break-fix team, you will be the primary technical escalation point. You will develop network solution designs to meet a complex mix of customer requirements. Act as a coach providing proactive support and clear technical and customer service direction to the Team. Contributing to architectural documentation as part of high- and low-level network designs for various customers. Preparation and participation in key technical review events during the network deployment life-cycle.
Operations Management
Ensure that all escalated requests are handled in line with agreed service levels. You will take ownership of the TAC queue ensuring that any service requests are handled efficiently and effectively. Ensures that customer communication is managed effectively and in line with customer expectation and any specific contractual SLA agreements. Perform network administration activities to ensure the smooth operation of applications across multiple platforms.
Process Improvement
Work together as a Team to review and continually improve processes. Carry out network capacity reviews provide a permanent solution. Drive automation to reduce implementation failures, manual tasks and therefore improving overall network performance and availability.
Stakeholder Management
Effectively manage and co-ordinate internal and external relationships to meet expectation on change deployment timelines and processes. Contribute to the planning of network infrastructure software releases and schedule configuration changes in a timely fashion to avoid network downtime for customers.

What we are looking for:

  • A proven experience working in Network Services including Firewall technologies Fortinet or Palo Alto, Sonic Walls, and other industry recognized firewall technologies.
  • Be a self-starter who can show initiative and be comfortable working alone or with collaborating with a team.
  • You will be accountable, holding others accountable when required.
  • Organisational skills and analytical capabilities.
  • A sound understanding of network-based technologies, protocols and you can translate business requirements.
  • Manage multiple project requests.
  • Good understanding of ITIL and Agile
  • Significant experience of Network deployment for LAN / WAN and Data Centres.
  • Solid understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP models.
  • Networking cabling expertise including Fibre, Copper Ethernet, and configuration as well as networking hardware installation.
  • Strong knowledge of network security, not least covering Next Generation and Web Application firewalls.
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., IPsec, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, QoS, MPLS, VoIP, etc.).
  • Network design knowledge and experience (HLD/LLD).
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.
  • Understanding of cloud technologies and concepts.
  • Mastery of Networking services and components including:
  • Local and Wide Area Networking
  • Cisco networking to CCNP level
  • Juniper networking JNCIP level
  • Experience in Scripting and automation tools would be beneficial.
  • Experience in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Access Points – Cisco Meraki, Alcatel APs, FortiAPs.
  • Experiencing in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting HP infrastructure (Routers/Switches).
  • Experience and knowledge of F5 load-balancers
  • Knowledge and awareness of Wireless Technologies (for e.g. SIM only routers)
  • Scripting (Python, ANSIBLE) desirable.
