QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent years of experience is required.
  • Five years of increasingly responsible experience in resource development, including grant-seeking, and three years of performing increasingly responsible project/program management functions.
  • Five years or more of progressively responsible roles related to resource development, portfolio management and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated leadership of a transformational initiative or project with measurable impact.
  • Advanced and adept experience with Microsoft Office suite; comfort in technology with the ability to learn and adopt new tools and resources as needed.
  • Experience with contract and statement of work review (SOW).
  • Experience in a startup environment or launching a new program, product, department, or initiative.
  • Experience establishing and managing complex internal and external relationships.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Proven track record of developing and fostering excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders; able to find common ground, build consensus and strengthen collaboration. Proven ability to work with government and agency partners, build successful relationships with local leaders and organizations and engage people from diverse backgrounds in various settings.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The Leverage Officer is a vital team member and will perform various project management and strategy activities, including building and maintaining relationships with community-based organizations (CBOs) working across Western North Carolina. These activities primarily generate opportunities to garner grant funding from outside the region to strengthen and support CBOs, enabling them to serve the community better. The Leverage Officer will build relationships that allow them to be a trusted and dependable thought partner across the Community Investment Team and with CBOs to deepen their focus on grant opportunities outside the region.
Reporting to the Vice President (VP) of Community Equity, the successful candidate will be passionate about equity and resource development, have a track record of measurable results, and be flexible, adaptive, and energized in a deadline-driven work environment.
