JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a motivated Engineering or Mathematics Graduate to join our dynamic team as a Underwriting Assistant.
REQUIREMENTS
- Engineering / Mathematics degree essential.
- MSc in Nuclear Engineering / BSc in Engineering / BEng.
- Strong background in maths essential for evaluating risk factors.
- Excellent risk analysis skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration within teams and with clients.
Responsibilities:
- Underwriting Support: Assist underwriters by providing technical insights that help in the decision-making process for policy issuance, pricing, and terms.
- Analyse Technical Risks: Apply your engineering knowledge to evaluate technical risks associated with projects in industries such as manufacturing, construction, energy and marine.
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their specific needs, explain complex concepts in an accessible manner, and build long-term relationships.
- Data Analysis and Modelling: Utilise statistical models and data analysis techniques to predict potential risk exposures and outcomes.
- Loss Prevention: Work on strategies to mitigate risk, advising on engineering controls and safety measures that could reduce the likelihood of claims.
- Research and Reporting: Conduct research on emerging technologies, materials, and methodologies in engineering to keep our policies relevant and competitive. Prepare detailed reports on findings.
