We are looking for a dedicated Librarian to manage and maintain our library’s digital and physical resources. Responsibilities include overseeing the booklist, purchasing new materials, and providing support to students and faculty. The Librarian ensures the library remains a vital resource for academic research and learning.
Requirements
Matric and/or bachelor’s degree in library science, Information Science, or related field.
3-5 years’ experience in a library setting, preferably academic.
Knowledge of library systems, cataloguing standards, and information retrieval.
Familiarity with library management software and digital platforms.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain physical and digital library collections.
Develop and implement library policies and procedures.
Compile and update the institution’s booklist with academic departments.
Catalog and classify books and digital media.
Identify and recommend new books and digital media for purchase.
Assist library users in locating and utilizing resources.
Offer research assistance and bibliographic instruction.
Facilitate interlibrary loan services and document delivery
