Aneurin Leisure Trust is seeking a dedicated Library Assistant to join our team, providing quality library and information services to the Blaenau Gwent community. If you have a passion for helping others, enjoy working in a customer-focused environment, and are eager to promote literacy, lifelong learning, and community engagement, this could be the perfect role for you.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) or equivalent.
  • ICT/ECDL qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working within a Library or similar customer-focused environment.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) and excellent customer service.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional weekends or evenings as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily library services, including customer support and information enquiries.
  • Support public use of digital tools such as the People’s Network, Wi-Fi, and mobile devices.
  • Help deliver library campaigns, literacy projects, health initiatives, and digital support activities.
  • Perform financial and administrative tasks, including cash handling and report generation.
  • Promote library services and work on various projects to enhance community engagement.
  • Ensure the security of the library building and equipment.
