It is vital that you demonstrate how you meet the ‘essential’ criteria listed in the Person Specification, in order to secure an interview: How to apply - guidance for applicants | Torfaen County Borough Council
We are looking for a committed and motivated Library Manager to join our senior team at Torfaen Libraries. This is a hybrid role which includes customer-facing duties in our libraries as well as office-based administrative duties. An understanding of current issues relating to library and information services is essential to the role.
The post-holder will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to- day running of the three libraries within the borough, including the management of operational staff and the premises management of Cwmbran and Pontypool Libraries. Our libraries are busy places with lots going on, so you will need to be able to manage and prioritise tasks effectively and have the skills to organise and motivate Library Assistants working across the three buildings.
The Library Manager will be an advocate for the library service and will work as part of the senior team to help deliver on key strategic objectives. You will need excellent communication skills and you will work closely with the senior team under the direction of the Team Leader to help ensure these objectives are delivered. This will include responsibility for the collection and management of statistics in relation to service planning and local and national strategic goals, and participation in management meetings.
