POSITION SUMMARY

Multiple temporary hourly-intermittent Work Study positions available in the Stockton Campus Library.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates the capacity to work well independently and with others.
  • Demonstrates the capacity to be responsible and report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use computer; type; alphabetize; take/follow directions from a supervisor.
  • Demonstrates the ability to interact with library users.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
  • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
  • Must have received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying.

Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist library patrons at the Circulation Desk and/or study areas.
  • Retrieve returned materials from outdoor book drops.
  • Shelve and retrieve all types of library materials.
  • Use the computerized library system to check materials in and out.
  • Assist patrons in the use of library equipment (copy machine, printer, etc.).
  • Assist with opening and closing of the library.
  • Answer informational, materials-related, and directional queries by phone or in-person.
  • Refer patron-driven questions to librarians or staff when appropriate.
  • Record statistics.

Other duties as assigned.
