Our client, Pratt’s Compounding Pharmacy, is an independent pharmacy that has been operating in Kamloops, BC for more than 50 years. As one of the oldest operating Pharmacies in the region, they have set themselves apart to become one of Canada’s most comprehensive pharmacies. They offer a wide range of services including, USP Grade Pharmaceuticals, medication reviews and consultations, over-the-counter (OTC) medications and even medications for pets.
As a compounding pharmacy they craft medicines on site in their lab, alongside other leading brands of medicines and vitamins. Their highly trained pharmacists pride themselves in working to the highest standards and use only the best ingredients available. With thousands of formulas and one of the largest product ranges in Canada, Pratt’s provides medicines and products customers can’t find elsewhere — some of which are even discontinued. Customer service is at the forefront of everything they do. They believe in taking the time to get to know each of their customers on a personal level rather than just completing transactions, ensuring that they can provide the best possible patient care.
They are currently looking for a passionate Licensed Pharmacy Technician to join their team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
  • Current registration and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia (RPhT);
  • Experience in bracing, cryotherapy, compounding and compression fitting considered an asset;
  • Due to the pace and complexity of our patients and environment, previous experience working in a fasted paced pharmacy is considered an asset;
  • Proficiency in Kroll is required;
  • Able to make decisions and take initiative proactively;
  • Eager to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently;
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills;
  • A positive attitude and a passion for patient care is essential;
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications and prescription orders;Additional training or certifications, such as your injection certification is considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

As the successful candidate you would be joining a dynamic team where you can expand your expertise in a state-of-the-art compounding lab. The pharmacy integrates nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and compounding practices, giving you the opportunity to provide personalized care to their diverse patient base. You will support the pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, which involves counting pills, measuring liquids, and labeling prescriptions accurately. You will handle inventory management by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and organizing medication storage. Additionally, you will interact with patients, providing information about medication usage, answering questions, and addressing any concerns. By maintaining a clean and organized work environment, you will help ensure that the pharmacy runs smoothly and that patients receive the correct medications and information.
