Description:

UPMC MERCY IS SEARCHING FOR A PART TIME EXPERIENCED LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN) TO SUPPORT OUR EMERGENCY REFERRAL CENTER!

Are you ready to make a real difference? Join UPMC Mercy’s Emergency Referral Center (ERC), where every day is an opportunity to impact lives positively. As part of our Emergency Department extension, you’ll provide a safe haven for patients facing acute and chronic behavioral health or substance abuse challenges. Work two, 12-hour shifts per week (7am and 7pm start times), rotating between daylight, night shifts, and weekends, and be at the forefront of patient care.
This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus! For LPNs with 1+ years of experience- $6,250 will be paid to you in a one-lump sum within your first 90 days when you make a 2-year work agreement to remain with UPMC!

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience Matters: Previous experience in addiction, behavioral health, or crisis settings is a plus. At least 2 years of LPN experience is preferred.
  • Versatility: Ability to thrive in med/surg/tele or Emergency Department settings.
  • Expertise: Strong nursing judgment and competency.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the Difference-Maker: Evaluate patients and determine the best care path.
  • Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with Emergency Department staff to facilitate admissions, transfers, or discharges.
  • Guide and Support: Assist with involuntary commitments and offer alternatives to hospitalization.
  • Deliver Excellence: Provide top-notch care and IV therapy following UPMC guidelines.
