Description:
Your Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity in our program for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within the Alberta Kidney Care (AKC). As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the LPN is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. Decisions are made in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The LPN provides patient and family centered care to acute and chronic renal failure patient populations. The LPN will practice within the guidelines and philosophy of the AKC. You will be encouraged and be expected to work at your full scope of practice and provide a variety of nursing duties in accordance with current policies and nursing care standards. This is a Regularized Relief Designated Float position serving Alberta Kidney Care sites. Staff have a regular rotational schedule and expected to float to all AKC-N sites based on needs. This position will cover the RAH, EGH, GNH, WEKC, 5B1 and Wetaskiwin dialysis unit. If there is no previous dialysis experience, the candidate must be willing to attend 4 weeks of full time classroom training followed by a week of Day shifts and then a week of Evening buddy shifts. The candidate must be successful in both the classroom training and buddy shifts to continue in the position.
