What you’ll do:
Viasat, Inc. seeks a licensing specialist to join its government and regulatory affairs group. This successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining Viasat’s increasingly diverse global license portfolio.
The day-to-day:
More specifically, the successful candidate will be able to:
- Work with internal stakeholders to maintain a robust licensing database and update it with additional functionality over time in response to evolving business needs.
- Track status of existing licenses and pending applications, and ensure updates are timely and appropriately captured in the licensing database.
- Develop and maintain template application materials and licensing precedent, and support the preparation and submission of application materials and related filings.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to track compliance deadlines, prepare required reports, and satisfy other relevant requirements in a timely manner.
- Assist in the evaluation of national licensing requirements in light of Viasat’s planned network operations and other business activities.
- Work closely with other teams within the company (business, technical, legal, accounting, etc.) to obtain necessary factual inputs and facilitate appropriate internal review of planned regulatory submissions.
What you’ll need:
- Prior experience in the field of government and regulatory affairs and with telecommunications-related licensing matters
- Willingness and ability to operate in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate fully, clearly, and effectively, both orally and in writing, with leadership and teammates.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy, together with the ability to manage simultaneous projects.
- Ability to take initiative and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced corporate environment.
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
What will help you on the job:
- Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent.
