Our Global Product Strategy (GPS) team plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare by driving the strategic direction of our innovative product portfolio. As a member of the GPS team, you will be at the forefront of transforming groundbreaking scientific discoveries into accessible and impactful healthcare solutions for patients worldwide. As the Lifecycle Leader for Type 1 Diabetes you will contribute to shaping and delivering on our overall vision for the Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism Therapeutic Area. You will have the accountability to maximize the asset lifecycle value to patients, society and Roche through leading the global cross functional molecule strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Shaping the long term vision and strategy in partnership with early development, Pharma development, Partnering, Global Product Strategy (GPS) and Pharma Development Medical Affairs leads
- Supporting relevant early development asset teams, licensing and other business development activities partnering with GPS, pRED, gRED and PD
- Influencing molecule optimisation within and across the Metabolism Disease Area plus relevant therapeutic areas ensures consideration is given to critical decisions which could impact value capture. Strong collaboration with the Commercial Leadership Team to realize the potential of the asset
- Serving as a thought partner and sounding board for the GPS teams within the Metabolism Franchise and relevant internal and external stakeholders ensuring the Franchise goals are met
- Inspiring and aligning people towards a vision while building a culture of accountability, collaborations, diversity, inclusion and trust
Who You Are
- Experience:
- Scientific and commercial understanding of the Metabolism space (in particular the areas of diabetes and obesity) with an established network of external stakeholders is preferred.
- Development experience is preferable
- Demonstrable previous accomplishments should include developing and leading all aspects of the execution of breakthrough development and / or commercial strategies that led to considerable financial results and increased long term sustainable success of multiple products
- Extensive experience in launch and product life-cycle planning and management, deep understanding of global health systems and access/reimbursement challenges
- Leadership experience in global development or commercial in the areas of Life-cycle management, Disease Area management, Country Management, Commercial and Global Medical Affairs or related disciplines (such as Lifecycle Leader, Senior Disease Area Director, Global Medical Director or related disciplines)
- Proven abilities to work effectively in a complex, matrix environment, across numerous time zones
- Skills:
- Outstanding leadership skills: proven track record in building teams and ability to influence in a collaborative manner with a cross functional environment
- Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding financial and/or other quantitative targets, as well as qualitative goals, for large departments/teams in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry
- Exceptional strategic orientation and agility: outstanding ability to develop long term vision and deep understanding of the global pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry to create robust and innovative business strategies
- Certifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (marketing, business management or life sciences field is preferred). MBA, MD, PhD or other relevant Graduate or Postgraduate Degree is preferred
