Description:

SUMMARY

The Lifespan Cognition Lab is seeking to hire a Data Analyst Lead. This role is responsible for overseeing all research data and study links related to lab projects, and handling data requests from lab members.
This role will provide plenty of opportunities for the individual to work closely with researchers, develop skills in data management in a psychology research environment, and develop professional, social, and communication skills.
This is a casual contract position. Estimated weekly commitment of 5-8 hours, most of which can be done remotely.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current enrollment as a KPU student is a prerequisite for this position.
  • Must be in good academic standing for the term prior to selection.
  • Must maintain at least a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Proficient in Excel, R, Python (or equivalent) for data tidying, cleaning, analyses.
  • Working knowledge of research-related programs such as Microsoft Office suite of applications, SONA, Qualtrics, and Pavlovia (or demonstrate the ability to learn these systems).
  • Coding background (HTML and JavaScript preferred).
  • Proof of TCPS-2 Core certification required.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, and leadership skills. Team management experience is advantageous.
  • Experience with databases maintenance (SQL or other query languages) is an asset.
  • Salary Information
    Anticipated hourly pay rate: $18.00

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the data management team and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Implement new and edit existing embedded variables and survey logic in Qualtrics.
  • Regularly update, tidy, and clean data (data wrangling).
  • Maintain copies of raw data in organized folders on OneDrive.
  • Develop comprehensive protocols/manual for maintaining links and data for future use.
  • Assist with or delegate management of mailing list updates.
  • Train and mentor the Research Assistants (RAs) in data management.
  • Maintain a database for lab projects.
  • Oversee the rescoring and coding of data sets.
