Description:

Duties:

  • Reviewing all data produced by analytical instrumentation and technicians inserted to LIMS to ensure correct values to be reported
  • Producing analytical reports in accordance to laboratory quality control specifications
  • Assurance of timely delivery of tests results to the clients
  • Supporting laboratory staff in using LIMS by delivering training and troubleshooting problems
  • Liaising with LIMS software supplier to resolve all issues and ensure effective application of the software
  • Applying LIMS to new applications such as creating equipment database or sample register
  • Creating new reporting methods through LIMS software
  • Training new users in LIMS application
  • Reporting to Laboratory Operations Manager instrumental problems which shall be resolved by Laboratory staff to improve reporting through LIMS

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Science with Chemistry or related major.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Laboratory Quality practices within a NATA accredited laboratory.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the use of Environmental Laboratory Analytical instrumentation.
  • Ability to work in team or independently
  • Ability to reason and interpret with good attention to detail and clear record keeping and the ability to multitask.
  • A very good understanding of LIMS and IT systems
  • Full rights to work full-time in Australia
