Description:

Maintain specified target weights, torques, and overall product quality. Complete all necessary documentation, set-up sheets, validation, etc.

  • Achieve standard production outputs with standard crewing
  • Independently set up, operate and challenge Vision Systems
  • Independently troubleshoot all minor mechanical difficulties during production
  • Independently repair or correct during production, filler bearings, air cylinders, timing, and material handling belts.
  • Rebuild/repair filling heads, label sensors, photo eyes, shear pins, etc.
  • Promotes & maintains clean, safe production lines & work areas. Comply with and enforce plant Safety Standards, Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and all other plant policies
  • Has the ability to changeover all equipment on all production lines from one product to another in their designated operation.
  • This includes all auxiliary equipment: cartoners, labelers, bundlers, HMI, interface programming, etc.
  • Must be able to start up multiple production lines at the same time, after line/equipment changeovers and achieve an 85% output efficiency
  • Must have all production line equipment ready at the start of the shift on multiple lines as required
  • Must be able to perform minor mechanical equipment rebuilds. Replacing equipment shafts, gearboxes, timing gears, motors, mountings, etc.
  • Assist sanitizers in cleaning and sanitizing all packaging equipment. May also be required to clean and sanitize all packaging equipment when sanitizers are not available
  • Must work collaboratively with the Team Leader; this could potentially be helping with taking weight/torques/FG checks and relieving packers for washroom breaks
  • Responsible for proper line clearance, ensuring there are no packaging materials in or under equipment on the production line that is not related to the work order that is being filled.
  • Ensure all vision systems are operational and functioning correctly
  • Help with all jobs on the packaging line as needed. This may require material handling and/or replacing the stacker/label operator on the line for a short period of time
  • Perform line trails as required and complete all necessary documentation accurately & on time.
  • Work directly with customers on new product start-ups
  • Perform and record preventive maintenance on all packaging equipment (for your designated lines/area) on a regular and timely basis, where required.
  • Cleans, maintains, and care for all packaging equipment
  • Be able to complete all equipment/line validations (IQ/OQ) and all required documentation accurately & on time
  • Must be able to train new line mechanics and provide feedback on trainee’s performance
  • Must hold a valid tow motor license
  • Other duties as assigned
