Line Support Technican I

We are looking for a Line Support Technician I to join our team in the automotive industry located in Tallapoosa, Georgia . The role involves maintaining the stability of Tier I Production Critical Line Applications and equipment in an onsite setting and providing necessary IT support to the production assembly department. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

• Maintain the stability of Tier I Production Critical Line Applications and associated equipment
• Carry out client and end-user desktop application and network support for all Tier 1 computer systems
• Engage with plant floor users and clients to understand production line processes and customer needs
• Support projects such as technology upgrades and implementations of Tier 1 computer systems
• Review, understand, and react to various monitoring systems for Tier 1 computer systems
• Act as the primary contact for IT support to the production assembly department and ancillary departments
• Interact directly with customer lineside and at other plant locations to properly respond, assess, and correct support requests as they are identified
• Mitigate mean time to recovery of IT responsible systems and applications in the event of support requests
• Leverage customer service skills to effectively manage 2nd and 3rd level support calls
• Execute processes on an AIX/UNIX environment and manage related computer applications and end-user computing devices.
• Proficiency in customer service and operations management
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to review and implement strategies effectively
• Experience in production and networking within the automotive industry
• Must be willing and able to travel as required
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Familiarity with Active Directory and Deskside Support
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Experience with suppliers and upgrades in the automotive industry
• Proficiency in computer system and computer sciences
• Knowledge of desktop hardware, R code, and recovery methods
• Ability to work onsite as required
• Strong decision-making skills
• Familiarity with laptop hardware and mitigation strategies
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or related field is preferred
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience in a similar role in the automotive industry is preferred
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to lift and move equipment as needed
• Familiarity with industry-specific software such as “About Time” is preferred
• Ability to maintain detail oriented and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing detail oriented publications.
