About the role:
A Linehaul Driver plays a critical role in the transportation industry, focusing on long-haul journeys between different locations, often within a network of distribution centers. Their responsibilities are vital for maintaining efficient and timely delivery of good.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all cargo is securely loaded and unloaded, adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely delivery while considering factors like traffic, road conditions, and fuel efficiency.
  • Report any delays, accidents, or incidents to the dispatcher or supervisor promptly
  • Address and resolve any issues or concerns that may arise during transport or delivery.
  • Maintain regular communication with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members to provide updates on progress and receive instructions

What You Bring:

  • Hold a clean NZ Class 5 license for B Train and preferably have B Train experience, with good reversing experience
  • Hardworking, honest and reliable
  • Fit for work - lifting, pushing, pulling, movement of freight or connecting/disconnecting units is required
  • Flexible in your approach and self-directed
  • Able to manage your workload, and meet deadlines
  • Good team player, with initiative and able to perform quality work in a safe manner
  • A competent licensed forklift driver is preferred, not essential
  • Professional driver with good geographical knowledge
