SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years related business experience
  • In-depth Linux client and server knowledge (RedHat, Ubuntu)
  • Knowledge of RedHat Ansible and Satellite
  • Knowledge of Apache, SSL, Samba, DNS, DHCP, Postfix, NFS and automated configuration solutions
  • Experiences with one or multiple of the following is a plus:
  • Atlassian Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket
  • Firewall configuration
  • Veeam Backup

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Linux Engineer is responsible to ensure that Genedata’s worldwide IT infrastructure is properly configured and meets all security standards. Furthermore, the Linux Engineer will be engaged as needed to troubleshoot enterprise architecture infrastructure issues arising within professional services engagements, advising client-side technical teams on potential resolution approaches.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining our Linux IT infrastructure
  • Performing software maintenance and automated Linux installation in a virtualized environment
  • Managing server hardware, act as Linux expert for the team
  • Assisting in other fields including Linux-Windows connectivity, firewalls and backup systems
  • Troubleshooting Enterprise architecture issues
  • Performing 2nd level user support
  • Supporting end users
