Description:
As a Linux System Intern, you will contribute to, integrate and validate software features on Auterion-powered unmanned aerial vehicles. You will gain exposure to Auterion’s full technology stack while improving our state of the art autonomous vehicle solutions, and develop insights into real-world testing and validation of a range new products. You will work closely with software engineers, hardware experts and flight test engineers, and hear direct feedback from customers and OEMs. You will have many opportunities to learn, grow your skillset and take ownership of your tasks in a young, dynamic company.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Studying towards (in the final two semesters) or have already completed a Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, robotics or a related field.
- Proven software development experience. C++ and/or Python is preferred.
- Knowledge of Linux, preferably in an embedded context
- Familiarity with command-line only system interactions
- Familiarity with some of the following: Git, Docker, networking, system administration, security & encryption.
- Experience with robot hardware and electronics.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Bonus: Experience developing on the Linux kernel and/or building custom distributions in Yocto
- Eligible to work in Switzerland.
Responsibilities:
- Work with team members to develop different features for autonomous aerial vehicles.
- Write features, solve bugs and refactor key pieces of code within Auterion’s custom Linux ecosystem.
- Design CI and test systems and contribute to their efficient functioning.
- Test these features in simulation and by going out to fly real vehicles.
- Critically evaluate code performance, drive fast iterations, and document procedures.
