Description:

DESCRIPTION

Are you passionate about helping individuals seek justice and navigate the legal landscape? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a drive to excel in a dynamic legal environment? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals, including recent graduates with a keen interest in personal injury law. If you are currently studying towards your SQE or an equivalent qualification, we are willing to train the right candidates.
As a Litigation Assistant, you will play a crucial role in managing a caseload of pre-litigated cases, primarily focused on personal injury claims for our union members. These cases encompass a variety of scenarios, including road traffic accidents, employers’ liability, and public liability claims. You will be joining the team on a full-time, permanent basis, based out of our Dagenham office.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • Knowledge of personal injury law is advantageous, but we are open to training candidates who show a strong interest in this area.
  • Familiarity with Pre-Action Protocols, Civil Procedure Rules, and funding procedures is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding client care skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and make informed decisions.
  • Understanding of case management systems and proficiency in utilising the Microsoft suite (e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting investigations and gathering evidence to determine whether litigation is warranted.
  • Handling a wide range of tasks such as initial merit assessments, obtaining liability evidence, pre-action disclosure, securing medical evidence when necessary, making disclosure decisions, assessing claim values, and liaising with clients, witnesses, experts, unions, third parties, and defendants.
  • Producing all your work with minimal assistance from administrative and support staff.
  • Proficiency in using provided equipment and case management systems is essential; you will be fully trained on our specific case management system, Mattersphere.
