Description:

We are in search of a Litigation Docketing Manager to oversee our centralized litigation docketing department. The role is based in Columbia, South Carolina and falls within the Legal industry. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and manage a team of docket specialists and clerks, monitor legal and filing deadlines, and interact frequently with firm management and litigation partners.

SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Docketing, Calendar - Docket, Calendaring, CompuLaw, PACER, and Complex Litigation
  • Ability to use state and federal databases including PACER, File & Serve Xpress, ECFx
  • Proficient understanding of civil practice law and procedures across multiple jurisdictions and states
  • Knowledge of litigation case management systems, docketing software (CompuLaw Vision/Milana preferred), e-discovery, and electronic calendaring systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a litigation support role within the legal industry
  • Proficiency in docketing and calendaring, with experience in CompuLaw preferred
  • Familiarity with PACER for tracking litigation processes
  • Experience in managing complex litigation cases
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining and managing the litigation calendar
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other team members
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • A high level of professionalism and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor’s degree in law, business administration, or related field preferred
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local court rules and procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Willingness to continue learning and improving legal knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and supervise the centralized litigation docketing department
  • Design and implement the structure of the centralized docketing department
  • Supervise a team of docket specialists and clerks responsible for tracking legal and filing deadlines across multiple states
  • Retrieve electronic documents from local, state, and federal courts and agencies across multiple states
  • Docket and calendar legal documents for firm litigation teams
  • Respond to inquiries from attorneys and staff regarding procedural aspects of various legal venues
  • Complete all assigned docketing and calendaring work accurately and promptly
  • Monitor changes to various state and federal procedures, summarize them and communicate these changes to firm litigation teams
  • Administer the firm’s internal docket database, including opening and closing cases
  • Coordinate new client transfers and oversee work output by docket department employees.
