Sreenivasan Chambers LLC is hiring a Litigation Secretary to support our team. Candidate must have relevant experience as a litigation secretary and/or have completed a diploma in law. JOB SUMMARY:
You will be responsible for providing administrative support to our lawyers. You should be able to work independently, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and have a strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct conflict checks and client due diligence;
- File opening and letters of engagement;
- File and document management including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, travel bookings, printing and saving documents;
- Conduct various searches such as business profile, people profile and cause book searches;
- Support lawyers in hearing / trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing trial bundles and basic e-filing;
- Assist in recording time entries and claims / expenses;
- Handle phone calls, emails, and other communications;
- Arrange for registered post, dispatches and service of process; and
- Pantry and receptionist duties where required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience as a Litigation Secretary or in a similar role.
- Diploma in law or higher.
- Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and Court rules.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive), legal software (e.g. Clio).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
ADDITIONAL QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience handling law firm accounts and claims.
- Experience with billing software and time tracking systems.
- Familiarity with ICMS and e-Litigation.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
