Sreenivasan Chambers LLC is hiring a Litigation Secretary to support our team. Candidate must have relevant experience as a litigation secretary and/or have completed a diploma in law. JOB SUMMARY:

You will be responsible for providing administrative support to our lawyers. You should be able to work independently, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and have a strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct conflict checks and client due diligence;
  • File opening and letters of engagement;
  • File and document management including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, travel bookings, printing and saving documents;
  • Conduct various searches such as business profile, people profile and cause book searches;
  • Support lawyers in hearing / trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing trial bundles and basic e-filing;
  • Assist in recording time entries and claims / expenses;
  • Handle phone calls, emails, and other communications;
  • Arrange for registered post, dispatches and service of process; and
  • Pantry and receptionist duties where required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a Litigation Secretary or in a similar role.
  • Diploma in law or higher.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and Court rules.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive), legal software (e.g. Clio).
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

ADDITIONAL QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience handling law firm accounts and claims.
  • Experience with billing software and time tracking systems.
  • Familiarity with ICMS and e-Litigation.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
