Job Title: General and Commercial Litigation Solicitor/Lawyer

Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 (dependent on experience)

ABOUT THE ROLE

A well-established law firm in Southampton is seeking a talented General and Commercial Litigation Solicitor/Lawyer to join their dynamic litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional with 2+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to take the next step in their career, managing a varied and stimulating caseload while benefiting from a supportive and flexible working environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Handling a broad range of litigation matters, including:
• Contract disputes
• Property disputes
• Debt recovery
• Professional negligence claims
• Shareholder and partnership disputes
• Other general commercial disputes
• Providing clear, strategic legal advice to a diverse client base, including individuals, SMEs, and larger businesses.
• Preparing and managing cases from inception to resolution, including drafting pleadings, witness statements, and managing court proceedings.
• Engaging in settlement negotiations, mediations, and other alternative dispute resolution methods.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships through excellent communication and service delivery.
• Supporting business development activities to grow the department’s presence in the market.

To excel in this role, you will need:

• A minimum of 2 years PQE in general and/or commercial litigation.
• A proven track record of managing a variety of litigation matters independently.
• Strong technical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive and solution-focused approach to client matters.
• The ability to manage competing deadlines effectively while maintaining high service standards
