    Job Description
    The purpose of this job is to serve as a member of the ELL Microbiology group within the client environment to support their technical and analytical tasks, to work to the highest standards in terms of quality and professionalism.

Job Responsibilities

  • Verification/Calibration of laboratory equipment, including balances, pH meters and pipettes.
  • Responsible for Sample Management of Large Molecule Samples including label printing, sample sorting and storage, notification to group
  • Responsible for stock replenishment within laboratories and ordering consumables
  • Responsible for temperature monitoring within laboratories on a daily basis
  • Responsible for shipping materials to external laboratories for testing and preparing shipping documentation, as required
  • This person will be responsible for providing assistance for other members of staff as required
  • Responsible for providing general assistance in laboratories.
  • Responsible for cleaning laboratory equipment as required e.g. refrigerators, incubators etc.
  • Responsible for sanitisation of laboratory areas, keeping the laboratory area clean and tidy in both ‘seen’ and ‘unseen’ areas.
  • This person will ensure that all required documentation is completed on time, accurately and legibly.
  • Responsible for adhering to all company standards in the areas of safety, housekeeping and quality, notifying management of any discrepancies.
  • As with all members of staff this person is responsible for ensuring that customers requirements are fully met and in so doing will be flexible to work in any area of the business as is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • NCEA certificate in a related discipline or administrative qualification is preferable.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years laboratory housekeeping experience (preferably in GMP facility).
  • GMP experience is preferable
  • Good team player
  • Good communication skills both internally and externally
