Job Description Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting Mortgage loan officers in performing duties related to FHA, VA, USDA, and Conventional mortgage loan applications. Responsible for knowing secondary market requirements and reviewing loan data for compliance. This position provides assistance to clients inquiring or requesting a mortgage loan.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of related bank experience.
  • 2-4 years of loan experience, with prior mortgage processing experience desired.
  • May be required to register for and obtain NMLS ID # and is responsible for maintaining registration as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of mortgage loan programs, loan documentation and compliance.
  • Ability to organize projects, priorities and time management.
  • Critical level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and marketing skills.
  • Problem solving/analytical skills are required.
  • Computer literacy, specifically with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data entry abilities.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Orders titles, appraisals, employment and deposit verifications.
  • Verifies, compiles, and types application information for mortgage loans: Reviews residential loan application file to verify that application data is complete and meets establishment standards, including type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment.
  • Works closely with Mortgage loan officers and clients to compile complete applications.
  • Processes the documents received for each file, verifying the accuracy and completeness of each document.
  • Helps Prepare files for underwriting per submission guidelines.
  • Reviews loan files to ensure compliance with guidelines and accurately inputs information into Point or Loan Origination system by investor.
  • Assists Mortgage loan officer in preparing commitment letter(s), denial letter(s) and canceling files when necessary.
  • Uploads loan data information to 3rd party lenders and completes the submission of packages.
  • Works closely with loan officers to meet underwriting conditions and may be asked to contact the client.
  • Assists Mortgage loan officer with business development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
