Responsibilities:

ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE

Our Casualty team provides a full, expert service in defending public (PL) and employers’ liability (EL) claims, across the private sector and the public sector. Weightmans’ team is second-to-none in providing defendant litigation services in these and other specialist Casualty areas. We operate on a national basis with public sector.
We are currently recruiting for a Paralegal to join our Local Government Team based in Birmingham or Leicester.
Your primary role will be to provide assistance to senior case handlers in the Casualty team. The nature of the work is primarily social care claims and sone EL/PL claims.

This can be a document heavy role and prior experience analysing, redacting and preparing large bundles is an advantage.

  • Analysing records and preparing chronologies of key information and dates
  • Using Dunn v Durham to decide information to redact
  • Using software to sort electronic documents into date order and removing duplication
  • Achieving set financial and chargeable targets
  • Working as part of a team
  • Supporting the team’s business development activities
