Over 38 years, Alinea has successfully delivered more than 1000 projects worldwide. alineainternational.com The Project: Alinea is looking for a national Project Coordinator – Peru based in Lima, Peru to support the Global Affairs Canada (GAC)-funded Field Support Services Project (FSSP). The primary objective of the FSSP is to provide access to local technical expertise, administrative and logistical services to provide support to DFATD’s Peru and Bolivia Development Programs.
This local support ensures that Canada can provide effective, efficient, quality and relevant assistance to meet development challenges, needs and priorities in both countries. The FSS will facilitate Canada’s delivery of international assistance in both countries. The expertise available through the FSS helps provide a better understanding of social, political, economic, cultural, environmental and security issues that must inform decision-making.
The Role Based in Lima, Peru, the FSSP Project Coordinator – Peru tasks include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintaining and updating relevant project information in manual and/or electronic files; project information might include such things as project activity schedule, status reports, and correspondences;
- Communicating with project management stakeholders on strategic and administrative matters related to the project;
- Assisting in developing, planning, analyzing, evaluating, and prioritizing deliverables, documents and requirements, including documenting achievements and results achieved for Technical Specialists;
- Assisting in the preparation and coordination of documentation in response to scheduled and unscheduled reports, feedback, and observations to update management of project progress;
- Coordinating logistical services, such as vehicle rentals, travel, and missions for Technical Specialists/sub-contractors and third parties, as required;
- Implementing and coordinating FSS activities for stakeholders;
- Remaining informed of, and complying with locally applicable laws, regulations, and practices, including those for local human resources management and those that will affect the use of local Technical Specialists and their ability to operate in the programming area;
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master of political science, law, international development, economics, finance, business or public administration, project management, social sciences, or similar;
- At least eight (8) years of international development project management and delivery experience for donor-funded projects (GAC, FCDO, USAID, GIZ, etc.) in developing countries;
- Prior experience implementing and managing at least two (2) completed international development projects since 2010. Specifically, this should be;
- 4 years or more demonstrated experience implementing and managing each project;
- A high value (total value at or above 3 million CAD) per project; and
- In a developing country, ideally Peru and Bolivia.
- Demonstrated experience supporting administrative and financial functions and ensuring quality delivery across the project; Communicating and coordinating with activities with donors, partners, and stakeholders; Supporting development of project documents such as implementation plans, annual work plans, budgets, and financial and narrative reports; and Experience coordinating logistics and ensuring up to date information on applicable laws and operational requirements.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
