Description:
Hospice and in-patient palliative care unit duties will primarily be concerned with the day-to-day management of patients in the care of the service. The Specialty Registrar will be expected to attend multi-disciplinary meetings and assist in the supervision of Core Specialty Trainees and GP Registrars within the medical team. Patients receiving specialist palliative care in the community, in the Therapies and Rehabilitation Centre, and hospital outpatients will also be seen by Specialty Registrars under the appropriate supervision of the consultant. Outside working hours, at their base clinical unit, StRs on the South Yorkshire Programme for Higher Specialist Training Scheme will take part in an on-call rota.
