Description:

Applications are invited for the above post in the North Wales Bone Unit & Osteoporosis Service based at Llandudno Hospital, in beautiful North Wales. Llandudno Hospital is part of the largest health Board in Wales and, is a fully integrated organisation, which provides a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and elective hospital services for a population of almost 220,000 .
The successful applicant will be part of a friendly, enthusiastic and forward-looking cohesive team. The team has 1 whole time Consultant, 2.8 Rheumatology Specialist Nurses, 1.8 whole time radiologists to support Bone Densitometry scans.
The post holder will undertake 0.6 whole time Dexa scan reporting for a 6 months fixed term contract.
North Wales is claimed one of the top spots for many reasons not limited to the wide variety of activities, attractions and some of the finest food and drink, all surrounded by stunning scenery from the rolling hills and valleys to the rugged mountains and long sandy beaches. Chester is less than an hour away and the Cities of Liverpool and Manchester are just over 1 hour, making the location perfect to live. There are affordable quality housing, excellent private and state schools and local amenities. By train, London is only 2hrs 50min away.
The Bone Densitometry unit provides Outpatient services at Llandudno Hospital. New patients are seen either in the department or offered virtual appointments and followed up. There are nurse led clinics in Llandudno Hospital for new and follow up patients. The unit also runs the Fracture Liaison Services for the Central and West. Treatments for osteoporosis are offered at the IV suite at LLGH and other community hospitals under the auspices of the unit at LLGH. The department runs an answerphone advice- line run by the Osteoporosis Specialist Nurses to take patient and GP queries.
