Description:

Locum Consultant in Haematology
Come and live in the beautiful city of York or the idyllic countryside of North Yorkshire!
Are you looking to be part of an experienced and supportive MDT?
Are you passionate in providing high quality Haematology patient care?
Do you want a working environment that supports your clinical and academic development?
We are looking to welcome…
A Whole Time, Part time or Job Share Consultant Haematologist. This is a locum post with immediate effect and the successful applicant will join 6 other consultants.
The Trust provides Haematology care to a population of approximately 800,000, including high intensity chemotherapy services. Outpatient chemotherapy can be delivered in Scarborough, but all inpatient care is on the York site. We are a non-comprehensive Haemophilia centre.
The role is predominantly based in York Hospital with a day a week on the Scarborough site. An interest in bleeding disorders would be desirable but is not essential. Exact duties are open to negotiation depending on the interests of the successful applicant. The post holder will contribute to clinical and laboratory work and be part of a one in seven non-resident on call rota.
York & Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute hospital, community and specialist healthcare services for approximately 800,000 people living in and around York, North Yorkshire, North East Yorkshire and Ryedale - an area covering 3,400 square miles, and which includes Scarborough and Bridlington. We are the largest provider of healthcare in the region and we are incredibly proud of our 8,500 staff, working across 9 hospital sites
Our mission is to be a valued and trusted partner within our care system, delivering safe effective care to the population we serve.
We’re situated in a fantastic part of the country: home to two national parks, a beautiful coastline, and the city of York, which is consistently voted one of the best to live in the UK.
In joining the Trust, you will have access to a wide range of staff benefits including health and wellbeing support, finance schemes and discounts. There is also a competitive relocation package of up to £18,000. To support your learning and development you will be entitled to a study leave budget of £3,000 across three years, along with support from our learning and development team. The Trust also offers an extra 2 days annual leave for consultants on top of the existing allowance as detailed in the 2008 - Consultant Terms and Conditions. More information can be found on the Trust’s website in the ‘Working for Us’ section.
