Locum Consultant in General Surgery (Vascular)

The Department of General Surgery and Vascular Surgery at Croydon University Hospital is a dynamic department looking to consolidate quality and continue to deliver excellence for patients of Croydon. This post is for a full time locum Consultant Vascular Surgeon fixed term until 31 st March 2025. We are looking to appoint an individual who can work well in our team and who can bring an additional range of skills. We would welcome a candidate who has both open vascular and endovascular experience but independent endovascular skills is not an essential requirement.
This post is for a full time locum Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Croydon University Hospital. We are looking to appoint an individual who can work well in our team and who can bring an additional range of skills. We would welcome a candidate who has both open vascular and endovascular experience but independent endovascular skills is not an essential requirement. The initial job plan comprises a total of 10 programmed activities (PAs) per week. This consists of 8.5 direct clinical care PAs and 1.5 supporting professional activity PAs and is subject to annual review with the Clinical Director. Activities will include elective and emergency theatre, management of inpatients and advice at Croydon University Hospital and outpatient clinics. This will include clinical supervision of the vascular team. We work as a hub and spoke model with St Georges Hospital within a vascular network. This post does not have sessions at St Georges as it is hybrid cover for two substantive surgeons who are seconded/on sabbatical at present. There is access to the regional MDT and liaison for acute and elective major vascular activity at St Georges Hospital. There is no on call commitment. As this is a locum post, the timetable is flexible for clinical activity and timetables may vary week by week but will be agree with the post holder in advance.
