Description:
Interviews are due to take place on 28th August 2024.
As part of the continued development of services an opportunity has arisen for a Locum Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with special interest in Head and Neck Surgery and Microvascular Surgery to support the existing head and neck microvascular team at the University Hospitals Coventry
The head and and neck service at UHCW NHS Trust provides microvascular support to patients from both Coventry and Warwickshire as well as Worcestershire serving a population of approximately 1.5 million.
N.B. We reserve the right to close a vacancy before the closing date if we receive a high volume of applications or if there has been a change in organisational priorities.
Whilst the post is designed for an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon with a subspecialty interest in Head and Neck Surgery and Microvascular Surgery, the successful candidate will form part of a team of consultants providing a comprehensive service to the populations of Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
The majority of the successful candidate’s clinical sessions are likely to be at UHCW and its satellite clinics in Rugby, Nuneaton or Warwick.
The post holder will be expected to work flexibly with colleagues from both Maxillofacial Surgery and ENT Surgery to provide a comprehensive Oral & Maxillofacial and Head and Neck Service between the various trusts.
On call duties are under review. Specifically the successful candidate will be expected to support the already established microvascular reconstructive service and it’s on call rota (1:3 moving to 1:4 in 2025) and in addition will also be an integral team member in the busy head and neck surgical service. In addition, there will be opportunities to develop interests which complement the current team.
