The CQC has rated the department as ‘good’, and a recent patient survey rated our unit 5th in England for maternity services. This post presents an opportunity to work in a friendly and dynamic District General Hospital, in a predominantly obstetric role, whilst providing the variety of covering both obstetrics and acute gynaecology, with the expectation of gynaecology clinics and theatre sessions sufficient to maintain skills appropriate to acute on call gynaecology.
It would be highly beneficial for applicants to have experience in early pregnancy care, including early pregnancy scanning. In addition, an interest and skills in ambulatory gynaecology, in particular outpatient hysteroscopy, would be advantageous, however support and training could be provided for this aspect of the role. General gynaecology operating lists are incorporated into the job plan.
