Group Trucks Operations - Logistics is seeking a highly skilled and experienced project professional to lead the North America Capacity project. This pivotal initiative aims to expand our production capabilities by establishing a new heavy-duty truck plant in Mexico. This new footprint will supplement our U.S. production capabilities, enhancing our manufacturing capacity and operational efficiency.
The Logistics Product Program Manager – North America Capacity (NAC) will play a pivotal role in ensuring the project’s success by overseeing all logistics activities, managing project timelines, coordinating activities with cross-functional teams and within the Logistics community. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to think strategically and manage complexity. The Logistics Product Program Manager – North America Capacity (NAC) needs good understanding on project management tools and processes as well as logistics knowledge to represent GTO Logistics in various steering committees and drive changes with multiple stakeholders.

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and motivated individual to join our Logistics Preparation North America team as a Logistics Product Program Manager – North America Capacity (NAC).
You will be responsible for managing the End to End Logistics solution development and implementation (from Planning and Delivery and Internal Logistics to Inbound and Outbound flows, as well as Digitalization & IT).
This position will be based in Greensboro, NC, and report directly to the Director Logistics Preparation and Business Office North America.

WHO ARE YOU?

We are looking for candidates with the following skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, supply chain or related field required
  • Master’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Logistics and Project Management
  • Proficiency in project management. PMP certification is a plus
  • Good knowledge in DVP (Volvo Product Development waterfall process)
  • Good knowledge of PSM process
  • Knowledge and experience in VPS (Volvo Performance System)
  • STRIPE systems knowledge
  • Experience working in Logistics Operations is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional, multi-cultural teams at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in risk and change management.
  • Ability to oversee, coordinate, and juggle multiple tasks and meet tough deadlines.
  • Strong abilities in priority setting and problem solving.
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Good planning, anticipation, and proactivity skills

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all Logistics activities related to the North America Capacity project including the definition of goals and deliverables in alignment with cross-functional teams and within the Logistics community.
  • Build Logistics Project Management structure and adjust it all along the project while managing the Logistics Program Team.
  • Develop and coordinate a project master plan aligned with GTO Logistics strategy and support project team members to execute on the strategy
  • Understand, evaluate and predict End-to-End logistics impact and risks on material flows (both internal and external), packaging, equipment, systems, lead time.
  • Ensure development of concepts and solutions for special packaging, inbound and outbound delivery modes & internal flows
  • Own Level-3 timeplan and deliverables for Logistics
  • Communicate and filter Information to and from the logistics project team and the GTO project team.
  • Coordinate the project and their interdependencies between the various product and industrial projects.
  • Develop and monitor the logistics budget (RnD hours, associated expenses and investments) and the Friday / Monday impact (Inbound and Outbound, internal logistics impact on conversion cost, CO2 impact, digitalization & IT).
  • Coordinate between project team and sourcing stakeholders to ensure supplier selections are aligned with logistics strategies and requirements.
  • Understand and manage project gate deliverables for all logistics-related items within the Logistics Assurance Plan (LAP) and the Project Assurance Plan (PAP)
  • Analyze, evaluate, and overcome project risks, and produce project reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and plan logistics setup for project builds and serial production.
  • Develop and improve the Logistics preparation processes in the region.
