Logistics and Order Processing Specialist
Yumi Organics is looking for a Logistics and Order Processing Specialist with experience in international logistics and order processing. We are looking for a very well organized and detail-oriented individual who can think a few steps ahead to ensure logistics runs smoothly and on time, as well as look for efficiencies and cost savings. We hope to find an individual who is a problem solver, critical thinker and also be able to work well under pressure.
About Yumi:
Our vision is to become the brand name known for Overnight Oats and to build out this subcategory of cereal as the number one leading brand. We are currently sold in over 3500+ retail stores across Canada, including Walmart, Loblaws, Metro, Save on Foods and Sobeys. Our products are also sold on Amazon and our own E-commerce platforms. Our territories to focus on this year is the US and Australian Markets.
We are a Montreal-based Overnight Oats company founded by a certified nutritionist, whose goal is to make healthy eating easy, fun and delicious, starting with the most important meal of the day: breakfast! ;) We are the first in Canada to launch a line of Overnight Oats to retail, and we are very excited to be the first to launch a line of Probiotic Trail Mixes & Super Seeds in Canada as well! In 2024 we launched into the hot oatmeal space and caffeinated energy bars which increased our channel expansions.

Job description

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Process Business to Business (B2B) purchase orders and schedule transportation;
  • Ensure all orders are processed accurately, promptly, on time, and with proper documentation;
  • Work closely with supply chain manager for ins and outs;
  • Ensure all finished goods and raw material transporation are handled on time to void any delays;
  • Identify discrepancies, foresee issues and notifies the team proactively;
  • Plan logistics for purchase orders (in and out) on an international level, including container shipments;
  • Tracks, traces and updates status of shipments daily;
  • Works with our ERP system, web EDI and other softwares to ensure correct and prompt communication;
  • Proper filing of bills of lading , customs papers, and relevant transport information;
  • Look for costing and efficiencies in day to day logistics;
  • Look for efficiencies on our regular routes;
  • Oversee fulfillment center 3PL order processing B2C E-commerce shipments and look for efficiencies;
  • Keep an eye on inventory levels with supply chain manager and organize stock transfers;
  • Monthly transportation cost reports, flagging any cost increases with partners and routes;
  • Manage transportation partner relationships and communication;
  • Work with accounting team to approve transportation related bills;

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Min. 5 years experience in logistics and order processing;
  • Experience in food sector preferred for industry nuances;
  • Experience in processing local and international shipments;
  • Bilingual (English and French);
  • Experience with ERP, Web EDI and other softwares;
  • Extremely organized, accurate and detail oriented;
  • Proactive, critical thinker, problem solver;
  • Tech savvy;
  • Expert in Microsoft 365 & Excel;
