Description:
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Logistics Clerk in Georgetown, Kentucky. This position plays a critical role in our logistics and distribution team, dealing with dispatching, data entry, customer service, and managing freight carriers. The role requires an individual with a strong background in the logistics industry, who can effectively coordinate shipping and receiving activities. This opening is for a 2nd shift schedule of Mon-Fri 4:00p-12:00am.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the dispatching operations to ensure timely and efficient service
- Enter and maintain accurate data records related to logistics operations
- Handle customer service inquiries in a call center environment, providing prompt and accurate responses
- Manage relationships with freight carriers, coordinating shipping and receiving activities
- Assist in logistics and distribution planning, contributing to overall operational efficiency
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints regarding shipping and receiving issues
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth logistics operations
- Implement logistics strategies to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction
- Adhere to industry regulations and company protocols regarding logistics operations.
- Proficiency in dispatching activities within the logistics industry
- Solid experience in data entry tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Familiarity with logistics and distribution processes and best practices
- Customer service experience, preferably within a call center environment
- Knowledge of freight carriers and their operations
- Experience in shipping and receiving procedures, including the ability to handle paperwork effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively with various stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in using logistics software and other relevant computer applications
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- High school diploma or equivalent; further training in logistics or supply chain management would be a plus.
