What will I be doing?

  • Manages, coordinates and is responsible for the reporting of all inventory activities to enable the achievement of reliable targets in order to optimise inventory levels and costs within the UAP.
  • Within Sheet Metal, the logistics controller is also responsible for managing sub-contractors including physical flow, information flow and performance metrics.
  • Monitors and performs cycle counts within the manufacturing unit, on all raw material and components within the UAP in order to meet a stock accuracy above 98%
  • Ensure 100% of the items have been cycle counted during the year following progress chart on Bi4
  • Provides the escalation point between manufacturing and stores/suppliers who deliver

direct to the point of use

  • Organises the activity and inventory storage for point of use components for the manufacturing unit in terms of planning, implementation, analysis and reporting of results
  • Ensures controls are in place to ensure the proper execution of inventory discrepancies, physical and system movements and waste management rules
  • Notifies the internal/external schedulers when discrepancies of inventory have been identified
  • Measures and analyses inventory performance in coordination with the internal/external scheduler using the defined metrics
  • Analyses the root cause of metrics not at the target level and works with the manufacturing unit to develop the necessary improvement and corrective action plans

Manages all sub-contracting activities (i.e heat treatment) :
o Ensure on time shipment and delivery to meet standard cycle time
o Share demand signal with subcontractors
o Raise PRs/convert to POs
o Communicate to internal schedulers on deliveries and expediting lead times
o Communicate with procurement and quality
o Share monthly results with the suppliers
Both roles need to Participate:
o In Stock Takes, Audits and Assessments
o Improvement projects (internal & external) for the permanent improvement of logistics flows and storage

What do you need from me?

  • Good understanding of the principles of MRP2
  • Knowledge of SAP (logistics transactions would be a plus)
  • Previous experience in logistics control and/or external scheduling
  • Familiar with desktop tools (Excel intermediate level)
  • Basic knowledge of Bi4

Tools:

  • Familiar with the information systems used in the Supply Chain: i.e. ERP, Supplier Portal
  • Familiar with desktop tools
