    CareFlight was founded in 1986 as an aeromedical charity with the mission to save lives, speed recovery and serve the community. Today, we deliver services nationally. Our critical care doctors, paramedics and nurses are specially trained in emergency and trauma, pre-hospital and remote medicine and we use helicopters, jet aircraft, turbo-prop planes and road vehicles to reach and treat patients wherever they are.
    We run accredited training for clinical specialists; operate extensive aviation and logistic training for our employees and other organisations; run a range of free education and training programs in regional, rural and remote areas, and partner with emergency service organisations, defence forces and businesses to deliver our expertise.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We currently have an opportunity for a casual Aeromedical Logistic Coordinator/Ground Support Officer. This position is an integral role in the business working up to 12 hour shifts on a flexible basis for both day and night roster coverage.

Coordinating fixed and rotary-wing missions as well as PTV transfers, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Determining and activating the most appropriate asset for the mission
  • Coordinating multi-stop flights/routing in consultation with the duty crew
  • Provide our crews with necessary ground support including but not limited to meeting aircraft and assisting the crews departing and returning from missions
  • Relaying critical information to duty crews and the Medical Retrieval Consultant (MRC)
  • Prioritising competing cases in consultation with the CareFlight MRC
  • Considering crew composition
  • Organising ground transport and companion/relative travel
  • Monitoring timings and mission progress
  • Maintaining communication with all stakeholders regarding incoming flights/patients/clinical status
  • Ensuring case information is entered into the system progressively and accurately
  • Producing internal and external status reports
  • Handing over to the next shift in a thorough and careful manner.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL POSSESS:

  • The ability to work autonomously and efficiently in a high-pressure work environment
  • Highly effective interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills within a multi-disciplinary team
  • The ability to maintain confidential information
  • Proven IT skills in a range of applications and data entry (including typing skills).
