Reporting to the Head of Logistics and Supply Chain Development, you will work cross functionally, collaborating on definition and delivery of an effective logistics infrastructure and proposition to support business growth and the evolving delivery proposition. You will leverage external insight/trends/good practice to continuously develop the logistics network. You will effectively lead a virtual team to optimise the network efficiency and capacity to deliver on the business plan.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven successful track record in a senior logistics role.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and leading change within logistics networks, driving operational excellence.
  • Ability to build strong business relationship across teams and work levels.
  • Able to build, lead and deliver using robust project methodology.
  • Strong leadership, influencing and facilitation skills.
  • Track record of successful budget management
  • Strong team player who uses initiative and diplomacy in liaising with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Using strategic objectives, business plans and operational requirements identify development opportunities to scope and assess that will the needs of the business to support operational capacity, cost efficiency, sustainability targets and customer service & proposition
  • Identify and work with necessary business & 3PL stakeholders and suppliers to assess development opportunity business cases, scaling benefit that can be achieved and cost, risk and complexity of achieving it
  • Scope viable opportunities, detailing deliverables, success criteria, risks, resource requirements and dependencies
  • Working with the Head of Logistics & Supply Chain Development, prioritise viable opportunities, aligning with business objectives and adapting as requirements change
  • Maintain a development plan spanning up to 5 years aligned to business growth, and future known requirements / dependencies and priorities.
  • Working with the Logistics Projects Manager, Head of Logistics & Supply Chain Development and business stakeholders devise capital expenditure budget for logistics across the year effectively using and adapting spend with the key priorities to support the business’ growth plan.
  • Works across the organisation with all functional teams to deliver required development of the customer proposition.
  • Working with the 3PL and Kingfisher & Screwfix business stakeholders and following appropriate governance procedures, source and appoint appropriate suppliers to deliver approved projects
  • Working with the Logistics Projects Manager & 3PL Development Managers leads teams through initiation to delivery. Manages team performance and collaborates with others for successful execution achieving agreed objectives within agreed budget and timescales.
  • Builds strong relationships with Supply Chain, Trading and Retail Operations teams to influence and foster alignment on tactical and future requirements/needs from the network.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to understand product range change/extension to anticipate impacts, and to take necessary steps to adapt in delivering new proposition or requirements. Working alongside operational and other development functions to define and deliver effective infrastructure to deliver business growth.
  • Owns and manages a customer proposition fulfilment roadmap that drives business growth, customer experience, savings and efficiencies.
  • Leads monthly/quarterly steering groups with all channels & stakeholders to regularly review project scope, priority, delivery and performance
  • Supports contract and performance management of operations ensuring budgets, contractual obligations and service levels are met while driving value for money through a framework of continuous improvement.
  • Continuously measures and assesses the market for opportunities for business, propositional, functional and operational improvement, maximising sales and capacity, enhancing efficiency, minimising cost and leveraging technology.
  • Line manager responsibility for the Logistics Network Development Analyst, engaging them to reach their potential through stretch, regular feedback, development, and review
