REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric, Relevant undergraduate degree/qualification in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or relevant degree in Supply Chain advantageous
  • Proven working experience as a Logistics Manager with knowledge of end-to-end logistics operations including maritime, over -the road, rail, customs, and warehousing
  • Sage experience advantageous
  • Advanced Excel skills essential – formulas, graphs, v-lookup, pivot tables
  • Excellent track record of successful distribution and logistics management
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff
  • Proficient in standard logistics and inventory management software
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
  • Strong foundation in data-driven decision-making, quantitative methods, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, stock control, transportation and customer pick-up and delivery services and requirements.
  • Planning and monitoring inbound and outgoing deliveries.
  • Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle, working with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations.
  • Liaise and negotiate with logistics service providers.
  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
  • Arrange warehouse, plan routes and process shipments
  • Facilitate accurate stock records, monthly stock counts and address variances
  • Effectively manage and implement receipt, invoicing, and POD controls to eliminate complaints and errors.
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints pertaining to shipments
  • Supervise, coach and train warehouse and despatch workforce
  • Meet relevant cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets
  • Maintain metrics and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Comply with laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
